We have some news regarding setting the time rate in projects. And about how it is now easier to edit the reports and invoices.

Now you can set an hour rate per project member as an alternative or complement to setting the time rate per project and activities. This will give you full flexibility in pricing your project. The rate per activity is valid unless you have entered a rate for the project member.

Editing reports

Now you can edit the hours in the invoice reports. When you do a change an entry the whole is recalculated automatically. This is a way of giving your invoices a final touch.

It is only the report itself that is edited, the time rows your co-workers have entered will remain untouched. For the sake of traceability the report is marked with who has made the changes and when.

Simpler menu

Over time we had added a lot of functions to Tic-Tac that our customers have asked for. Well, now we must hide them in order to not make new users overwhelmed! A simple menu with only the basic functions is now showed when you login the first time. You can choose it by clicking on the link 'simple menu' down at the bottom of the left hand corner of the screen. Do you want to have the complete menu, you click on 'full menu'. Finally, if you prefer to have the menu at the top of the screen you click on 'top menu'. Simple!

Ever since Apple launched their iPhone, the mobile usage of Tic-Tac has increased tremendously. Inspired by that we have made a version specially adapted for iPhone so that the iPhone users can feel at home.

We have added some information fileds in the projects that can be useful in your daily work. You can retreive the email and phone of your client.
And write an internal note not visible in reports and invoices.

With Tic-Tac you can select the language and currency for your invoice. Now there are some additional fields to tailor your invoice for the project.

International invoices must often include the customer VAT number.

And in some cases you may want to specify a special bank account and some payment instruction to go with it.

After calculating a budget for your project, the next step is often to submit a proposal to your customer. Press a button and you will now get your budget downloaded in a Word or Excel document.

Customers with international assignments have asked for the option to invoice in other languages and in other currencies. The solution we now offer is very flexible. You choose language and currency for the invoices for every project. You keep the value of the main currency internally to have the possibility to compile and compare.

Start- and stopdate for projects and co-workers

Our ambition is that it should be easy to report time. We have chosen to put settings that you not always use for projects and co-workers under a new link: Advanced settings

Now you can set a start- and stop date for projects and co-workers. You can only report time and expences within this specific period.



Stopwatch for every line in the weekly view.

Much going on? Now there is a stopwatch on every line in the weekly view so you can have full control and no time will be wasted! Click on the watch to start the stopwatch for the activity you are working on. Click again to stop or click on another watch to change activity. The time will be saved automatically.



New page for settings

Here you can do the settings for language and time zone. The new feature is that you can enter a date input limit which inhibit time reporting or changes before this date. It can be practical to lock the reporting when invoicing is done for the period.

These are the new features that have been added to Tic-Tac recently. Try them out and see how they work for you! As always, comments and ideas from our users are welcome. After all, this is what drives the development of Tic-Tac.

Weekly View - faster update and more info

In the Weekly View hours are now saved without reloading the page. This applies to all users that use newer versions of common web browsers, for example Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0.
You can now read more about a project simply by clicking on its name.

The new Report & Invoice view gives you a better overview

The new view immediately gives you an overview over reported time per project and co-worker. You can drill down to more details by clicking on a project or a person.
You can also choose to sort by category for better comparison. On the left you select reports for projects and on the right you select reports for co-workers.

A matrix summing up hours on a daily basis

One user requested a quick overview of total hours worked in the form of a matrix for every co-worker and day. We thought that was a great idea and created this report. Thanks Garry!

The Project overview summarizes the current status

The Project overview report now contains more information. Now the balance for a certain time is calculated, based on the different activity prices. You can also see if there are entries that have not been invoiced yet.

Time, monthly spread shows you the current trend

This report can be generated for one, several or all projects. It shows the current trend, how the compounded use of time is increasing or decreasing.

Tic-Tac data downloaded to Excel

From Tic-Tac you can download your company's data into you own computer. It's an add-on which we call Tic-Tac web service.

We have an example for Excel where a macro imports data from Tic-Tac into a spread sheet. It's an efficient way to create custom reports for your particular situation.

Five languages, four currencies and a whole lot of people

We have translated Tic-Tac into several languages and new users are coming to us from Germany, Great Britain, Denmark and Spain.
Individual users within a company can choose their language of choice. Well worth trying if you have co-workers abroad or colleagues that prefer another language.


A picture says more than a thousand numbers…

...and this is why more graphics are added to the Tic-Tac reports.
You can now find this pie chart showing reported time per activity in the report "Time sum per project and activity".

Plan the time. Per individual

A number of users have requested a function for work capacity planning.
So now you can plan activities against a time background in the "Time plan". You see the activities in a Gantt chart and the capacity per day in a column chart.
This gives you a quick overview of the plans for you and your colleagues.
You can also plan events and meetings and receive reminders by email.

Grouping projects

Having many projects in the portfolio increases the need to be able to group them to facilitate the creation of relevant reports.
The project page now has two new fields. When you generate a report, you can choose to include projects from a certain category or projects belonging to a certain account.
